Bridging the Gap
Imagine building you own bridge over water and crossing it! This is a team building metaphor we could wax lyrical upon for hours. But it’s real and your team can make it happen!
We have combined two of our most popular events, bridge and raft building, into an exciting new program. In this very challenging event with very real consequences, your groups will be divided in half on opposite sides of a lake, pond, or river. Each group will be given a pile of materials, a boat, some basic instructions, and a two-way radio to communicate with the other group. Teams can chose to work independently or in conjunction with the other team. They can barter for materials or even trade group members. The goal is for each group to construct a section of a bridge that will be joined together to span the watery divide.
Once the bridge is constructed and tested for safety, group members must complete a series of problem solving initiatives in order to earn passage across the bridge. The final task is for all members to safely cross the bridge while celebrating their success with members of the other team. Everyone is required to wear helmets and life jackets while crossing.
A group photo, final debrief, and team party make for a great ending to a very full and exciting day.
