From the President:

Hello to all of our much appreciated clients, prospects and friends:

Staying in contact with our wonderful clients and prospects has been a challenge that concerns me deeply. The good side of this is our business is growing rapidly and our clients are coming back again and again! We are also earning the reputation as the go-to company for high quality team building, leadership development, new managers training and business simulations.

In order to stay in touch and be a better resource for you, we are pleased to bring you our inaugural issue of Fusion, our quarterly enewsletter. We have designed it to be informative and fun. Each issue will highlight one of our programs, but we will not have a newsletter that becomes more about us than you. We would appreciate your feedback and comments. We'd like to know what you'd like to read about and see each quarter. Please let us know of anything you think would make this newsletter better for you. We promise to consider and respond to each and every comment.

We hope you are enjoying your summer. If you haven't had a vacation yet please try to schedule one. Time off from work helps put a better perspective on everything.

Best regards,

Peter Warren

Why Team Building?

It's that time of year again. Or maybe you're wondering whether or not to have another company outing. What should you do and why?

There are so many questions you may find yourself asking when it comes to team building and we're here to help you go through the 5 w's.

  1. Who should take part in team building? New or intact teams. Employees ranging from all levels.
  2. What team building activities are offered? Fusion Associates has a wide variety of activities including, Mini-Olympics, Charity Bike Build, Go Kart Build, High & Low Ropes Challenges, Corporate Game Shows, and much much more. We will work with you to make sure we find the best activities to match your needs and goals.
  3. Where do we offer programs? Where ever you are! We are located in Danbury, CT, but that does not mean we can't come to where your company is located or where your event destination has been booked.
  4. When should team building events be planned? That's completely up to you. Maybe you're planning a training or new product seminar/conference and you'd like some sort of team building activities to break up the day—we can help you out! Or maybe your team may be stuck in a rut and you need to just get out of the office to clear your heads. Why not plan something fun and motivating that will have your group working together yet allowing them to be creative. What ever the reason and where ever the place your group will come back rejuvenated and optimistic.
  5. Why? Why not? Everyone needs to get out of the office every now and then. A change in scenery can definitely help clear the mind and give a different outlook and how co-workers may view each other and their jobs.

Hopefully this may have answered some of your questions. If not give us a call and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have on programs we offer. We're here to help you and your teams and strive to make every team building event a successful one.

Charity Bike Build

18 kids bursting with excitement filled the meeting room at the Hilton Rye Town Hotel in Rye Brook, NY.

To match their excitement were the 35 GE Consumer Finance employees that were shocked to see the kids running in. This is the effect our Charity Bike Build has in the end.

The way the Charity Bike Build works is pretty simple. The group participating in this event is divided into teams.

The teams then are given tools and instructions to put together brand new bicycles that will be donated to deserving local children.

The big surprise is that they don't know the children are waiting excitedly to enter the room and receive their new bikes!

18 children from the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon receive new bikes.

Through this program participants walk away with a better understanding of how working together can be beneficial for everyone involved and the biggest reward is seeing how they're accomplishment can make a child so happy.

The Charity Bike Build is not only a great team building event, but it is also an excellent way to give back to the community.

When you think of habits do you think of good ones or bad ones? Why is it that bad habits are so much easier to pick up than good ones? Why not challenge yourself to pick up a good habit this month? And while your at it drop a bad one!

The definition of a habit is a recurrent pattern of behavior acquired through frequent repetition. Research shows that it takes 21 days to pick up a habit and also takes 21 days to drop a habit. Doesn't sound too hard does it? Not if you have a plan it isn't!

Think of a good habit you would like to add to your daily routine.

At this time you may want to also think of dropping a bad one. Now you need a plan. Try the tips below to help you succeed.

Once you've successfully completed your 21 day challenge you'll see that your new habit is like brushing your teeth everyday. Why not start another challenge now? Congratulations in advance!

Tip #1 Keep track with a calendar or journal
Tip #2 Post your goal - This daily reminder placed somewhere you will see it everyday can help your focus.
Tip #3 Schedule time - Try to make time for your habit at around the same time every day so that you and your body get used to it.
Tip #4 Think positive - Remaining positive is key. It's ok if you miss one of your days, but you must start over so that you can be consistent with the 21 days. It'll be easier the next time around.
